Timber used in this piece of furniture is a type of hardwood called Shorea, or more commonly known as Balau, Batu or Ironwood. This is a Group A heavy hardwood commonly found in South East Asia. It will sustain the extreme weather & climate in Australia.
Shorea timber is similar to teak, except it is stronger and more durable. This type of timber gives you affordability, beauty, and elegance to outdoor furniture.
The biggest attribute of Shorea is undoubtedly the strength of the timber. It is renowned for its excellent resistance to every day wear and tear. Shorea is extremely durable and tightly grained to produce a desirable density for outdoor furniture. This type of timber is resistant to damp conditions and makes it very competent at combating insect attacks and decay.
All timber used in our products is FSC and MTCC certified. We care and cherish our forests and we only use timber logged from properly managed forests under the Forests Sustainability Policy.
This item comes in flat pack. It is easy to assemble. Assembly instructions, screws and Allen key (Hex Key) come with this package.
Care for your furniture
Consider to put a layer of timber oil (typical timber oil such as linseed oil, teak oil or even decking oil) on your wood furniture, they are imbued with ingredients to help prevent mildew and algae, it penetrates deeply into the surface of the wood as it expands and contracts with the varying temperature of the weather. We’d suggest applying timber oil as soon as your furniture is assembled. Apply it again after 6 months and once a year there after. Your outdoor timber furniture from us will continue to enjoy the new look year after year.
