BAYKO Building Set - a construction toy system
BAYKO is an architectural construction toy system based on plastic and metal components - it is a predecessor to Lego. It was invented and patented by Charles Plimpton in the 1930s. He wanted to pioneer the use of Bakelite plastic for the building of models - positioning plastic bricks, windows and doors between metal rods which had been inserted into rows of holes in plastic bases.
