The Lohmann Brown is an egg-laying chicken. It is of hybrid origin and selectively bred. They lay at about 18 weeks, laying about 1 egg per day and laying up to 300 eggs a year. Eggs are laid daily, normally dawn or dusk. They are a very inquisitive breed of chicken. They will eat almost anything like any other. We have two 2-year old Toggenburg does for sale. One has been with kid once and was a great milker, about 1.25 liters a day; she is not currently milking. The other has not been with kid, but was just in heat a week or two ago. We were told they were sisters and their mother was currently milking up to 4 liters a day.
