Mercedes Benz W123 300D 1979 Model
Has not been thrashed to death by someone trying to prove if they really go a million kilometers without an oil change, nor all messed up getting it to run on fish & chips oil.
Looked after all its life. Oil and filter changes have been done regularly, the Diesel engine is sweet - will idle all day in 45 degrees or you get a permit and it will cruise to Perth tomorrow. At around 360 thousand kilometers, this is really not much for one of these and there is much life left in the car. Similarly, the automatic transmission is rock solid, they usually outlast the motor.
Body is straight and present well, shows minor wear and tear associated with a car 38 years old, some scratches, some dings etc... I’m sure you can find some. The floor, boot and panels are all solid. The car is currently registered in Victoria with club permit. Tires have plenty of tread, power steering is excellent, aircon works but doesn’t blow as cool as previously- needs a re-gas. Interior is Mercedes Benz Tex, fancy name for vinyl and is very tough wearing, has no rip or tears, is clean and supple. Headlining and door trims are in good condition, powered windows and sunroof are fully functional... overall not a museum piece, but a very tidy vehicle, pictures from part of the description.
These cars make perfect functional classics, currently a club member’s vehicle with Mercedes Benz Club of Victoria. You can certainly drive them everyday if changing the club permit to a standard Vic Road registration. Consistently get about 9 liters diesel per 100km, they stop and handle very well, have great all-round visibility plus you get the styling and build quality that just doesn’t happen any more.
Comes with the original Handbooks, Sale due to lack of use.
