I have two fig trees potted in 20cm pots, this is a sweet desert fig, we have the parent plant growing in our backyard, we use the fruit for jam, deserts and fresh fruit. We have grown trees in large containers in the past.

Wormwood is an attractive plant with soft blue foliage, grown primarily as a contrast plant to flowering green plants. It is a hardy plant tolerant of the Canberra climate, withstanding both our cold and our dry summers. Often grown around fowl enclosures or bird aviaries, it is said to prevent some pests around bird aviaries.

Portulaca is a colourful ground cover flowering from spring through to autumn. It has thick succulent type leaves and once established will survive with only an occasional drink in the hottest summer months.

Virginia Creepers are long lived deciduous climbers suitable for pergolas and areas where summer shade and winter sun is desired. There spectacular autumn foliage will delight you. They are hardy requiring little water once established.

Rhubarb plants 20cm pots from $6.00 well established plants. Rhubarb does particularly well in the Canberra garden, it enjoys our cold winters and produces leaves throughout the year, is a heavy feeder and once planted out requires little attention other then regular watering. While Rhubarb leaves are regarded as being poisonous due to the high amount of oxalic acid, the stem of the leaf is used in everything from deserts, pies, to wine.

Dichondra “silver falls” is a spectacular plant with its silver foliage falling from a hanging basket, over a rock wall or simply used as a ground cover, A hardy plant that once established prefers to be left alone. It will grow best with a drink in the heat of summer, otherwise overwatering tends to be its biggest problem.

Dwarf Mondo grass makes an excellent edging plant or used between pavers. A hardy plant unbothered by light foot traffic, withstands frost and once established requires little maintenance.

Our Yucca plants are well established and are ready for planting out. Our plants come from our own garden never seeing the inside of a hot house. Yucca thrives in the Canberra garden, requires little attention and almost no water once established.
