MILITARIA – AUST ARMY CADETS’ SHOULDER PATCHES c.1960 to PRESENT
During the period 1949-51, the title of 'Australian Cadet Corps' [ACC] and the Torch and Sword logo was officially adopted and shoulder patches were issued circa 1960. In 1993, the title of 'Australian Army Cadet Corps' [AACC] was approved and the shoulder patch modified accordingly. In 2001 the title of ‘Australian Army Cadets’ [AAC] was approved, again with a change in the design of the shoulder flash.
The shoulder patches worn by Army Cadets c. 1960 to the present day offered here are:
• Opposing ACC machine embroidered shoulder patches worn c.1960 – 1993 measuring 63 mm x 58 mm.
• Opposing AACC machine embroidered shoulder patches with borders satin-stitched worn 1993 – 2001 measuring 62 mm x 62 mm.
• A single AAC machine embroidered shoulder patch with satin stitched border worn on the left shoulder 2001 to the present day measuring 70 mm x 55 mm.
All sets of shoulder patches are in good unissued condition. Earlier versions are becoming difficult to find in unissued condition.
