Gerroa is an easy drive south from Sydney, it takes us 80 minutes from Engadine. The park itself is great- well maintained and lots of space for the kids to play, and plenty of activities. Fabulous swimming pool and playground too. The van is located mid-way between the 2 amenities blocks, which are clean and well-maintained.
There is a great kiosk/take-away shop near the park entry, serving great food from brekky to dinner. There are canoes, bikes, surfboards to hire, and a huge aviary with lots of birds to keep the kids amused. Across the road in the other part of the park is another pool, and a giant inflatable jumping pillow. They also have activities during school holidays.
The park is on the river, and access to the beach is via a tunnel under the road by the park entrance, so no need to worry about having to cross the road.
This is a fabulous park in a fabulous location.
Easy to reach for a quick weekend getaway, or a long holiday. You don't have to drive for hours to get there, or to come home.
Gerringong township has cafes and some great shops, and it's a short drive to wineries, other beaches, Berry and much more.
We have had this caravan since new, and even though it's older, it's been very well looked after. My parents were meticulous about everything, but since my dad passed away, it's been hard for my mum to keep it going. There have been many years of happy family memories made here, from my sister and I in our teenage years, to our own children spending hours on end at the river or beach, and endless hours riding bikes around the park and making friends with other kids.
One of the best things about the van is the covered outdoor space. If you look around the park you will see very few vans with the amount of space we have. This is an awesome space, because it means that even if it's raining, you and the kids can still be outside. And really holidays like this are more about being outside than inside.
My kids are grown now, and none of us use the van as much as we used to. It has been a part of our lives for so long, and as sad as it is to sell it, it's time for it to be loved by a new family.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. There is a key left at the office of the park, so if you want to take a drive and have a look at it, you can do that.
