Claude Weisbuch L'Audition Limited Edition Ornate Frame
He was a painter, draftsman and engraver.
Weisbuch's mother was from Lorraine and his father was an engineer of Rumanian origin.
Claude was a student of Camille Hilaire and Andre Vahl at the Nancy national School of Art.
He became professor of engraving at the School of Fine Arts in Sant -Etienne. He had his first solo exhibition in 1957 in France and went on to show in the United States and Japan
His work was mainly engraving and he would paint harlequins, musicians and equestrian scenes.. His precise and dynamic line is demonstrated in his images of theatre, opera, equestrian, musicians, card players , Kabuki dancers and portraits.
It is in a very large ornate frame - a tortoiseshell coloured wood and gold embellishments. It is heavy, weighing 5kg
There is a glass glaze.
The frame measures 90 by 81cm at the back
It is signed Weisbuch, in his manner in the right lower corner and is written 100/100 in the left lower corner
