Georgian Mahogany Pole Fire Screen with Needlepoint Tapestry Ex Con
Rising from bobbin style feet to a tri-form base supporting an elegant stem with intricate carving topped with a finial.
The square sliding frame with needlepoint embroidered panel has a glass covering the needlepoint.
On the rear side of the screen, the original silk material is present as are the brass fittings that allow the frame to move along the pole and be turned around.
It is in great original condition and displays very nicely.
The mahogany has a lovely rich colour and it is without repairs and very stable. The embroidery itself is in very good condition with no damage and the colours have remained bright and vibrant.
Purchased by us from and antique auction house 20 years ago. Please see original receipt.
It has been a much admired piece in our formal lounge room but we are now now moving hence we need to depart with this precious and much loved item.
