Victorian Chairs - Set Of 4
I don't know much about them but here is what I do know. I had a fellow from Christie's look at them in 2001. I showed him the markings under one of them (pictured) that says "Jeremiah Flanagan 1802 Dublin Ireland". He said this is fake and that it was common in the the late 1800's to fake an earlier period in these kinds of chairs. He said the wood patterning was from a later period; late 1800's. Nice, but not super rare or valuable. About $200.00 each he thought.
I am 50, and as long as we've had them they have not been touched. Only exception is the frame of one of them looks like it has been fixed at some point. I've taken as many pics as will tell the story. I would add that the wood is so light that I think these are for display only. I am not sure I'd sit on them.
Selling at a bit less than valuation, as that was 18 years ago now and I want them to go to a new home for a reasonable price.
Dimensions are 85cm high. Seat is 45cm wide x 40cm deep.
