Unfinished Campervan Project
Fully cleaned van - I spent 3 weeks pulling every single seal out of the windows, stripping the rear of the van and cleaning and scrubbing everything - see for yourself. No bedbugs in this one!
Black Bullbar - $200.
Animal whistles - $5.
New black dash mat and drivers smoke tint windshield - $160.
New leather steering wheel cover $30.
I used black upholstery spray to spray the aircon unit, front visors and the dash - looks great 2 cans = $33.
LED soft light globe in cabin heaps better - $12.
Roof was stripped and lined with double silver foil then felt carpet then black eggshell foam $140.
Front doors insulated with felt carpet.
Fully insulated wall cavities all around (including sliding and rear doors) with double bubble foil and insulation bats - $100.
Black cargo barrier - $90.
Interior side panels re - covered with lovely padded black vinyl $250 (have spare vinyl too - actually cost more because I botched the job and had to buy more vinyl then get the upholsterer to do it).
Great tinted windows - the darkest legal tint (would cost at least $1000 to have it done again - get a quote).
New charcoal carpet in rear and behind front seats $80.
False 5 ply wooden floor $100 I think for those sheets.
Bolted down single bed $120? with new thin caravan mattress $90 - huge improvement from a thick spring style mattress. Black sheets match the interior and look great (cant wait to get some nice black curtains!). The braces have been raised to give more storage underneath but can easily be lowered again if wanted. Could easily put a double bed in or a sheet across the single bed.
3 drawer black metal filing cabinet bolted to bed and 1 spare - $100.
Has 3 magnetic stick on battery lights so the van lights are not on when the sliding door opens and draining the main battery - $15.
Small solar panel and battery charger unit with LED lights - very handy to use lights and charge phones without turning ignition on. Can charge by 240V - worth around $175.
Good quality new USB charger port - $10.
There is some heavy black plaited curtain fabric and some lighter spacey stuff with curtain wire if you want to make your own curtains (fabrics cost over $250).
New front blinker covers - $38.
380,000kms but dealer had NEW head top end rebuild less than 5000kms ago (cost dealer $1800 but worth $2500).
New full length muffler from engine to tailpipe - $480.
New radiator - $720.
Full carby rebuild - $300.
Recent service including oil change, spark plugs, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, transmission oil - around $520.
Cool spike wheel nuts - $30.
Resprayed silver rims - very clean and new looking $30 2 cans spray.
Has fire extinguisher.
STEREO: Pioneer Double screen DVD/CD/Bluetooth/Radio player with 2 sets of speakers - BRAND NEW IN BOX $500 (but needs fitting).
Has gas bottle and cooker, cool camp chair, 2 medium eskies, 1 extra large Coleman esky! Plastic cookware tub, wire cooking stand.
Needs work getting a dual battery system, solar panel, roof rack with water pipe, TV, slide out fridge and oven and bench at the rear plus overhead storage - you should pull this off for $1500. You want a slide out kitchen or all the cooking smells, oils, and fats will end up inside the van. Even a cooking stand outside is better than having a burning flame inside the van.
I know what you're thinking:
1. It's not a pop top.
2. It doesn't have a 240V or microwave.
3. It doesn't have a dual battery system.
4. It doesn't have a ventilated box for the gas bottle.
5. It doesnt have a fitted out kitchen.
Registered as a 9 seater but currently running as a campervan. Has to go to the engineer - then sell the seats.
Will come with 12 months registration and RWC.
I don't think I can complete the project, I've no space to work on it and going interstate to work. It all adds up - a van like this will go for $15K easily, just needs the finishing touches
