Shark Cat 23 - IMMACULATE
Make an offer.
For sale is a 1983 (Bruce Harris) stage 2 Shark cat 23 runabout, in better than new condition.
This boat is IMMACULATE - EVERYTHING Restored or replaced new this year.
Personally I think this is the best shark cat model Bruce Harris ever made: This model came out in the early 80’s and was probably the last before Noosa Cat. The earlier Shark Cat 23 had narrower sponsons and at the top of each sponson it sloped up as it reached the deck.
The Hull is in better than new and in perfect condition, it looks amazing and is rock solid in every single way. …. Any inspection will not disappoint……With a complete ground up restoration finalised just this year, you will not find a better shark cat 23 in Australia. It has new everything: new electrics, wiring, hydraulic steering, windscreen, in addition there has been many many 10’s of thousands spent alone on a full hull restoration, all new floor, new below floor, new deck, swing dive door (yet to be attached), new gunnel rubbers, everything is perfect. Stainless steel tanks, new petrol hoses, new petrol system ( filters). This has been all completed by a quality professional marine group and it shows with the neat installation of wiring, hoses and quality finish.
The motors are perfect mix of weight, economy and speed. They are fully tested and serviced and in perfect mechanical working order: Mercury 175hp Optimax’s 2010 (350 hours each) with stainless steel counter rotating props. They are unbelievably fuel efficient and not so heavy 195kg each, that the boat sits incorrectly (ie: to low in the stern) in the water. A recent GPS speed was recorded at 83kph. It is fast and handles any sea without effort.
In terms of how it sits in the water. It sits perfectly level, like it did when it was made in 1983. There is no old water logged heavy timber under the floor, it's all been replaced, had the hull ground back and then re gelcoated and finally repalced correctly with new flooring - again - all new and perfect.
In terms of sitting level at rest, you can compare it to an identical boat (photo) taken in the early eighties and it sits identically.
The interior of the boat is gelcoated in no slip grey with back and white fleks.... it looks great. The interior has been left clear, as it was when new (like the Ab divers like it), allowing for you to tailor the seating to your liking or if like me, keep it original and bare for fishing and diving. There is the original Commercial Registration number (which Bruce Harris would have fibre glassed to the inside of the hull when it was ordered: TAS 024).
It comes on a registered 2010 Voyager Trailer that was purpose built for the 23 shark cat. The trailer is in excellent condition with perfect trailer brakes.
We have 100’s of photos detailing the full restoration and you can speak with the Qualified Marine / Fibreglass business who completed all the works.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to secure the most amazing and perfect shark cat 23 runabout in Australia…..
