A government authority in the Eastern suburbs require a Recreation Planning Project Manager asap for 2 months

Your new company
Due to internal staff movements, a local council in Melbourne's East are immediately seeking an experienced Leisure Planning Projects Officer to join their team ASAP this month for a short term role ending end of May

Your new role
Working with the wider team, you will primarily be responsible for identifying and establishing plans for the development and delivery of major recreation projects (within the leisure space) relevant to broader government initiates which will provide physical activity programs for the community. You will do this by providing strategic direction for the preparation of these sports and recreation facility plans and provide advice to and liaise with community recreation organisations.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful you will ideally have;

tertiary qualification in leisure/recreation combined with leading the planning of sports/recreation/sports projects.
experience as a project manager utilising technical experience in long term planning of community projects within this sector particularly in green field sites
strategic and creative thinking, adaptability to respond to changing project requirements and ability to work within tight timeframes
knowledge or previous work experience in local government (ideal) or a state government department working within the recreation/leisure planning and delivery teams.
