A magnificent example of Australian colonial furniture. The architecture is impressive. It is of substantial proportions & presents in original, unmodified condition. Offered for sale is an original Victorian gilt framed mirror that I had restored in 1988 - the back is dated.. The gold was restored, the black velvet mat was replaced & the mirror was resilvered. The structure is timber & the decoration is cast plaster. It is structurally sound with no joint movement & no plaster losses or damage. It has been stored for the past 25 years & presents in good condition with the gilding still bright. Measurements are 543mm x 630mm.

The Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Co. formally TA & S Green was established in 1889. The crown maker's mark on these pieces relates to the period 1906 - 1930. The pattern of each piece is in excellent, bright, unworn condition. The large cup has a small hairline crack toward the handle as evidenced in the provided closeup photo. Substantial packing with multiple layers of insulation is proposed for registered & insured postage.

Lion Lock Co. London, it is cast iron with an applied brass plate. From my research it was made Circa 1918. The business ceased operation in 1918. The original iron key is present & the mechanism operates perfectly. It is of substantial proportions & it is well made. Dimensions are 6" x 3" x 2" & 800 grams in weight. For the past 15 years it has been fitted to a strong box & used regularly. During that time it worked reliably & it is smooth to operate. Postage is available

It is complete with all original handles, locks, escutcheons & feet. It is structurally sound with no evidence of rot or borer & there are no splits in the top or side boards. The top & sides are single boards & all drawer fronts are well figured. The runners were restored in 1955 & all drawers slide well. All locks are operational however the original key is lost. It stands 50" tall, 48" wide & 19" deep.

A formal two height, cantilever secretaire bookcase of elegant proportions figured in flame mahogany. It is a quality build that was made in London between 1845 & 1855. The structure is solid honduras mahogany. The backing boards, which are bolection panelling, & shelving are fine grade baltic pine. Dimensions are 7'6" x 4'. The secretaire drawer front is fielded with a burr mahogany panel which is segregated from figured crossbanding by ogee recessed moulding & finished in pencil cockbeading.

It was commissioned by the Roman Catholic Church (St. Augustine's Balmain) to be made by Sydney cabinetmakers Alex W.
