Silver Surfer - Pewter Statue
The Silver Surfer is regarded as one of the most noble and introspective superheroes of the Marvel Comics universe.
The Silver Surfer, and humanoid alter ego astronomer Norrin Radd, was developed by Marvel artist Jack Kirby and writer-editor Stan Lee. Kirby literally pencilled him into a 1966 Fantastic Four plot as the surfboard-riding herald of planet eater Galactus.
The Silver Surfer pewter figurine is depicted riding his board across a bronze-coloured book display stand with the background showing the front page of a comic tale entitled "A New Beginning ... The Return to Earth".
It was released in 1996 as part of the popular Comic Book Champions series,
The package, measuring 9.4 x 5.6 x 3.8 inches, is in fine condition with a little shelf ware. A certificate of authenticity is embedded in the back of the box, showing this figurine is No. 9850 in the edition of 9995.
