Intel i7 930, 12 GB RAM Computer (previous-gen enthusiast grade)
Most components here are from an earlier PC build and have been extracted, cleaned and rebuilt into this PC. Some of them, like the Motherboard and CPU were being used until 02/02/2019 as a gaming system. Lots of original packaging is provided with this build.
This kit (although not this video card) was throwing around Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2 and WoW at 3440 x 1440 resolution with ease!
Some have questioned the CPU choice in this build (which is obviously being replaced), but as someone who's built enthusiast-grade systems for people for many years, I ask you to research this for yourself before drawing conclusions. Numerous Youtube videos exist comparing gaming performance between the top-of-the-line 5GHz Intel 8700K and the i7 930 (or 9xx series) CPUs where you can judge for yourself the real world performance and how it compares with your needs. If your passion is running Cinebench, or virtual machines, there are certainly better CPU options, and you could drop in a XEON six-core / 12 thread CPU for a decent performance boost in those types of scenarios (around $30-$50). These CPUs are known to overclock to as much as 4.5GHz on a good motherboard. I may seek to procure one of these...
So, what's included with this build is:
Pre-installed, Genuine Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit Operating System.
Black Corsair 760T Case (Red Fans) ($249 new)
--> Smoked clear side panel
--> Support for multiple radiators if water cooling is of interest to you
Asus Rampage III Extreme Motherboard
--> Still, almost $300 on Ebay
--> Bluetooth, USB2/3 etc.
--> Includes many unopened cables, stickers, SLI link etc.
Intel i7 930 CPU @ 3.4GHz 4 Core / 8 Threads 45nm/130W (overclocks more)
--> Complete with original unused CPU cooler
--> New Noctura thermal paste applied 02/02/2019 during rebuild
12GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600 RAM
--> Corsair Airflow II RAM Cooler fitted (LEDs not fitted)
Corsair 650W PSU semi-modular design
--> Enough power for dual GTX1070s video cards
Asus GTX 570 DirectCUII 1.25GB RAM
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD (~480Mb/s read / write)
Western Digital HD 1TB Green (Unused)
Corsair H100 240mm Liquid Cooling AIO kit
--> After-market red fans installed on radiator
Microsoft Ergo Keyboard (little used)
Microsoft Mouse (not new, but not used)
Viewsonic VX2235wm 1680x1050 Monitor
--> Boxed and unused for some time
--> Excellent (like new) condition
--> Includes cables (hdmi to DV, power etc.I)
Free Spares - which were working:
- Corsair H70 Liquid Cooling AIO (w/ fans etc)
- Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Motherboard
- 4 x Alienware DDR512 RAM sticks
- AMD Athlon 3800D? CPU
The Samsung SSD was only removed 03/02/2019, which from memory had ~2TB of writes so far (copying MMO games). Samsung Magician software rated it as GOOD!
All cables routed tidily, and tie-wrapped them where possible to keep things neat and as invisible as possible.
You can add a better graphics card, such as the new GTX 2060, or a GTX 1070 (as had previously been installed), and you'll have a system that is actually pretty solid performance-wise.
Will throw in orignal BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite and TombRaider games titles on DVD as I dislike the Steam game delivery system. Bioshock 2 installed and runs very nicely!
Happy to answer any questions.
