Dear nanny,

We are a big family If 6 children under 8. Our 8 and 6 year old are at school, 5 yr old at preschool and we have a 3, 2 and 3month old at home throughout the week. My husband and I both work in healthcare.

About us

We live about 25mins from the city in a quiet street that is walking distance to our children’s school and a popular restaurant plaza shopping mall. Buses and trains are in close walking distance to our house.

Each morning starts at roughly 7am with cuddles from each of the kids. Some go off to work and school and the others stay home watching our favourite cartoons and playing outside. I try to do some house work and pre make dinner. Everyone comes home in the afternoon for snacks, homework and baths. Then we normally eat together when Dad gets home but I prefer the little kids have dinner around 5 and are in bed by 6pm.

The school kids are in bed by 7pm. We have had previous au pairs from Spain and New Zealand. We currently have an Au pair from Italy that has been with us 4 months but will be leaving in March.

Expectations

I am on leave from work so jobs listed below are shared. My priority however is the baby that I want to attend to before all other tasks.

Timetable will be:

*7am-9am :Helping prepare breakfast for 5 children (this is mainly just for our 1 yr old. The others only require supervision of how much milk they pour in their bowls)

*Helping them get ready for school in the morning

*3pm -6pm: Helping 3 children with homework in the afternoon (Yr 2, Yr 1 and preschool. It’s fairly basic and quick but requires patience)

*Helping clean up after dinner

-Babysitting Tuesday night

-Babysitting some Saturday nights.

This is roughly 38 hours. Any extra hours you would be paid for.

Your advantages would be free accommodation and food as well as a friendly family. You can explore or hang out with us, But in our experience it’s best if you go out more often and enjoy what Sydney has to offer. We are very willing to be flexible with hours to accommodate your experiences,

Wage is $400 per week.
