Let me tell you what I offer over most other tutors.

I have been a Skype tutor for two years. Unlike those who are forced to transition to this new platform, I already know the best methods of digital communication, saving you valuable time in these uncertain times.

I have recently completed a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) with Honours in physics and major in mathematics, graduating with a university medal and first class honours (highest possible grade). With the recent changes to the HSC syllabus, most other tutors are still relying on their outdated knowledge from years ago. Since they no longer do a science-related degree, they have not undergone any retraining. This means that they are ill-equipped to help you achieve mastery over a new syllabus which now prioritises problem solving over rote learning.

By contrast, I continue to receive training in physics and mathematics, which allows me to offer you the three skills I describe in detail below. I graduated with Band 6 in all subjects from Baulkham Hills High School (ranked 2nd in the state) and I graduated from Sydney University with a university medal and first class honours (highest possible grade), where I received scholarships and awards for academic achievements. I have six years of experience in tutoring in top tutoring colleges and private tutoring. I was also selected for the Australian Physics Olympiad and I have experience with helping students with the qualifying exam.

I currently offer Skype tutoring ($70/hr), reproducing the effects of a face-to-face session by using an online whiteboard which allows me to see exactly what the student is doing and simultaneously make corrections. What I Offer Over Most Other Tutors

1. Problem Solving Techniques

I have a wealth of experiences in addressing physics and maths problems and I am in the ideal position to impart these techniques to you as someone who continues to apply these same techniques every day. Over the years, I've also developed tips for performing well in a high-stress exam environment when you are confronted with a daunting conundrum.

2. In-depth Intuition

While the old syllabus focused on rote learning complicated scientific concepts without proper understanding, the new syllabus now prioritises more quantitative questions. In my experience, in addition to my specific problem solving techniques, it is vital to approach confusing calculations with a in-depth overarching intuition which links the many different concepts you are exposed to. This way you can keep track of which formulae to apply in each situation. (The new syllabus has doubled the number of formulae!)

The only way to achieve this intuition is to spend a lot of time thinking about the concepts. While I still expect you to not accept anything without question, I will save you a lot of the time required to understand concepts and give you a simple mental picture with appropriate analogies to make abstract concepts more accessible. Sometimes these insights were only obtained with further training in more advanced physics or maths. I myself did not have the luxury of such foresight at the time!

3. Communication

Not only do I understand the material, but I also have five years of tutoring experience for honing my ability to convey abstract concepts to students who might not understand difficult ideas the way I do. I have always persisted in devising new ways of clarifying concepts. Indeed, I have been awarded prizes for presentations at conferences.

4. Constant support
