AN ENGLISH 8 DAY LONGCASE / GRANDFATHER CLOCK c. 1840 A slightly smaller oak with mahogany crossbanding clock made by Edwin Clark of Weymouth [Dorset] who was active from 1830 to 1853. The dial is of silvered brass with engraved floral themed corners and marked Tempus Fugit in the arch [Tempus Fugit is NOT a brand, it is Latin for “Time Flies”, the term has been used for centuries].
