Lovely Vintage/Antique marble inlaid mantel clock with brass side ornaments and feet. Unknown maker but possibly French origin. This clock has a lever action 8 day time only movement which is in working condition. The dial face is in excellent condition, approx 90mm or 3.5 inches in diameter enclosed with a brass bezel with bevelled edge glass. Circa 1885, Made by The William L Gilbert Clock Company in Bristol Connecticut USA, this stunning and rare "PSYCHE" model American Walnut wooden cased mantel clock has an 8 day time and strike movement which strikes the number of hours on the hour and a single strike on the half hour on a cathedral gong. The movement is original carrying the Wm L Gilbert stamp keeps good time. The case is in good condition carrying marks commensurate with being over 100 years old, some of the finials are loose.
