This guitar was made by Sugano Gakki. I purchased it from Lewis Music Store in Russel Street Melbourne in the late 1960's. I was told that it was a copy of a Martin D42 and that the manufacturer had sent a few to Australia to demonstrate their skills in making quality guitars at affordable prices. I now know that this resulted in the term 'law suit guitars' in America. I cannot be certain of the year of purchase but know it was before I entered the workforce full time in 1970. Glorious acoustic 000 shape. These are getting very hard to find and Blueridge in general are appreciating in used price as they are extremely good bang for buck. Very much a vintage Martin style but with terrific punch and a beautiful easy neck. I have a beaten up BR40 and have kept this one pristine and virtually unplayed as a possible conversion to amplified to replace my Martin, but never got around to it. Need money for travel, play it and you'll buy it.
