Vintage Hard Hat and Lamp. Nice mancave display piece. This is an incredibly RARE hard hat. I do not know what it is made of possibly fibreglass or some sort of early ‘Duraglass’ like plastic, perhaps even a highly compressed composite ‘wood pulp’ material? I see that some very early hard hats are referred to as ‘Boiled Fibreglass’ but I think this could well be an urban myth based on a pre-1940’s patented process by the American E.D. Bullard where Steamed-Canvas and Glue result in a hard finis

From WW2 dated 1944 used for night-time convoy identification this is a portable Admiralty Signalling Lamp, Pattern (model) 1038. It was manufactured by Harris Crabb Pty. Ltd. of Sydney Australia. The lamp/globe holder inside has a 12V 21W globe. There is also a second holder included in the design that was just for holding a spare globe. The front carousel-disc can be rotated to select from the 5 lenses (4 coloured and 1 clear) RED, BLUE, GREEN, WHITE & CLEAR. The battery compartment underneat

Railwayana; Vintage Rail Crossing Boomgate Signal Lights x3 . . . all three in need of restoration. The red lenses are strong plastic and all three lenses are ‘sound’ / no cracks, the lamp body and arms are aluminium - some damage on the ‘swing arms’. There are globes in each but I do not know if these still work.
