This Singer sewing machine says 1955 on it, so it is almost 70 years old. The machine is solid cast iron and it is pretty heavy (probably about 20kg). If you turn the pulley at the back, the needle moves up and down and the serrated bit of metal goes back and forth smoothly and thread pulls out as it should.
