Excellent Grade A Vtg Lavender Lilac Jadeite Qilin Kirin Bead
$460
Here we have a beautiful vintage lavender jadeite pendant / bead. Beautifully carved and good semi-translucent texture, when held to light one can see the “cotton” texture which is a good indicator of minimal treatment, making this Grade A in commercial terms.
In terms of colouring this is a desirable lavender purple in hues in the lilac-lavender spectrum. Some deeper hues emerge along the body, giving it a beautiful depth.
Carved in the shape of a mythical beast, I believe this to likely depict a Qilin or Kirin, revered in Asian cultures as a symbol of wealth and prosperity.
A cord can be threaded through its jaws or a tiny drilled hole to its head, which means this can be displayed in multiple ways.
Price marked at $460AUD.
Measurements: 13grams, 64.5 carats
Excellent vintage condition. Light wear commensurate with age.
