Vintage 20th Cent. (1974) Seiko JDM 5 Actus******8010 automatic watch
$285
SHIPPING OFFERED
Offered for sale is this vintage 20th Century Japanese (JDM) Seiko 5 Actus******8010 (21-jewel 7019A automatic movement), made at the Daini plant and dating from November 1974. A rare find in Australia given the 5 Actus range was only released within the Japanese domestic market. As well as this, pieces from the Daini plant were produced in less numbers than from their Suwa one.
Given 2024 represents a 50th-birthday year for everyone born in 1974, what a great gift to put aside!
The design features a stunning silver sunburst dial with attractive ‘sword’ style hands that match nicely with the angled indices. The movement takes a good wind, runs from first shake and keeps good time over 24 hours. Features four complications that all work correctly: day (with English and Kanji), date, push-crown date adjuster and day-forward. The case has not been polished and retains its factory lines. The original band features an extender, and fits nicely on my 19cm wrist (as pictured).
There is some very light patination to the outer bezel (which the price takes into account) but the crystal has no cracks and is clear. The caseback has no ugly marks as often found on many vintage watches. As the service history of the watch in unknown, it is recommended this be arranged by the next owner.
Please check the pictures as they form part of the item description.
