For sale are my Axis LS38 speakers with a black woodgrain finish. Australian made by John Reilly at Axis voicebox. I bought the speakers new from Caxton Audio back in the 1990's when they were still in Caxton Street. These are very efficient speakers with a sensitivity of 92.5 dB for 2.83 volts input, and minimum impedance of 4 ohms (nominal 6 ohms), so can be driven by almost any amplifier including valve amps with low wattage. Speakers include the original spikes, although I never used these.

A fairly recent model from the team at Philips that offers excellent radio performance and, excellent audio performance (with a larger than usual 100mm speaker) and when being used on battery, a very long playing life of 300 hours from just two D cells. The unit will also run from mains power (power lead included). The usual volume and tuning controls are present, as is a tone switch. The frequency is indicated on a dial with an attractive sliding “bar” presentation. Receives both AM and FM.

This is a white plastic (early solid polystyrene I assume) Radio extension speaker made by Aegis Pty. Ltd; Melbourne, Victoria. It was designed to plug into your radio (the big old radios not the portable transistor radios) and then be taken from room to room (hence the long cord which is about 12m long) so that radio could be enjoyed throughout the house. I have a scan of a 1949 brochure to that effect. The brochure DOES NOT come with the Radio Speaker - I have just included it for reference
