Tasks & responsibilities
- We are actively seeking compassionate and devoted Disability Support Workers to join our dynamic team in Western Sydney. As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.
- Responsibilities include providing hands-on assistance with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. You will also support individuals in maintaining their personal space and living areas.
- Additionally, you will facilitate community participation and social activities to enhance the social integration of individuals with disabilities. This includes escorting and supporting clients during outings, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in the health and well-being of individuals, collaborating with healthcare professionals as needed, is a crucial aspect of the role. You will implement and follow individualized care plans to address specific medical and therapeutic needs, maintaining clear and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and individual progress.
In summary, providing care and support to people living with disability in line with their personalised goals and care-plans, including but not limited to:
- Personal care and hygiene tasks (showering/dressing/grooming)
- Domestic assistance/ housekeeping
- Meal preparation
- Assist with medication / prompting
- Community access
- Transport (shopping,attending appointments)
Essential Job Requirements:
- Certificate III or above in Individual Support /Disability/ Community services or Mental Health (or a related industry)
- Experience in supporting participants with restrictive practices.
- A valid Working with Children Check
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A current National Police Check (or be prepared to obtain one)
- A current First Aid & CPR certification (or be prepared to obtain one)
- Complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- A valid Driver’s Licence
- 100 points of valid ID
- Valid working rights
Job Type: Casual
Salary: From $40.00 to $48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 38per week
