Used as an in-fill between block paving, artificial grass , sand pits, as foundry sand and as a fine aggregate in mortar and concrete. kiln dried sand is a clean, fine, dry aggregate sand that is best for artificial grass in-fills as it can be uniformly spread and it helps maintain artificial grass in top condition.
Kiln dried sand will weigh the turf down, keeping it flat and also prevents the turf from bubbling up and rippling due to expansion on hot days. It protects the turf, so it will last longer, and also helps the individual blades of grass stand up, so your turf looks good. And not doing so may void the warranty on artificial grass products.
Regular sand sold by garden supplies will not work well with artificial grass. Kiln dried sand is clean and it will be hard for weeds to grow, unlike regular sand. It also doesn't absorb water, so your turf dries fast after rain, and it's heavy, so the sand can't blow away.
