Railway Carriage – Tiny Home
With the current rental crisis, you could be living in your own home for under $50K.
Bought for a project that we never really got started on and never will now!
Fair bit of surface rust, but think this could probably be fixed up without too many problems, but the louvre type areas would need to be cut out altogether, maybe put in some windows instead of replacing with steel. Water tight as is, so you can live in it as is. We haven’t consulted with anyone on price of fixing rust, but we’d take a wild guess at $10K-$20K or do it yourself if you’re handy with a welder.
We’re not experts on renovating train carriages, but think the rust looks worse than it actually is.
Inside is functional. If you wanted pretty, you’d probably need to pull it out and start again, but as above, completely functional and liveable immediately.
Inside has bathroom, toilet, kitchen, bedroom, dining and lounge room. Original seating. Fixtures included, loose items not included (or by negotiation fridge, microwave etc).
We will take out all the books and clutter.
ALL Transport costs, disconnections from plumbing and electricity at buyers cost. We can provide the names of local trades people that would do the work at a good cost and these should be pretty simple, so costs won’t be very high for Plumbing and Electricity.
Instant gas hot water system.
Has been lived in variously over the years, but has been empty for a year or so.
We have not enquired on freight costs, as this will depend on where you are located. You will need to hire a crane at both ends to lift it on/off a truck. We were told the weight was 14 tonnes by the crane people when they put it there 10 yrs ago.

- Pool blanket roller 5mPool blanket roller - 5m in length. Think it's probably a Daisy Mark II roller. Tarp cover has some holes in it and is in average condition, roller itself appears to be in pretty good condition. Daisy is selling for $836 on their site. Roller is missing one of the plastic inserts that the blanket strings connect to, would imagine these are only a dollar or two from a pool store. Located at Clare in the Mid North.
