All hands volunteer(s) wanted for off-grid land in Far North
Calling out to both local and international backpackers, travellers, or else adventurous individuals - here’s an opportunity for a true Far North QLD off-grid experience.
Our tropical block of land, situated outside Cooktown, is in need of some repairs and garden regeneration.
If you think you’d enjoy ‘living off the land’ for a while, come on up and camp out, pitch in, and you can stay for free. We're looking for people with a positive, can-do attitude to assist Wal (my dad) with some manual tasks which require some strong muscle. Can you commit to dedicating some time each day to various odd jobs e.g. fixing fence, water-line maintenance, basic house repairs/refreshing, bush/land cleaning and garden regeneration (tropical plants, permaculture, companion planting etc.).
If you love the outdoors, especially very rustic/off-grid living (think - open fire, mountain water, solar-powered fridge), and would be OK with the sometime extreme weather elements, we’d be very happy to hear from you and to have a chat about whether this experience would be right for you. Timeframe of stay is negotiable. Any formal trades/skills are a plus not not a deal-breaker.
Own 4WD is essential due to outback road.
Call Wal - best time is early morning or evening.
(please call twice or leave a message with your contact and Dad will get back to you).
