Failed to diagnose engine problem
Unfortunately, diagnosis of the engine malfunction failed and not finding a cure the engine was summarily condemned.
Indeed, fruitless time was spent unnecessarily draining the engine of oil although the rationale for doing so was incorrect as a cursory reading of the workshop manual should have made clear.
Your assertion of previous work on large commercial engines should have been a sign that you were misrepresenting your abilities to work on a small marine engine...
