1973 Suzuki TS250 project
$1,400
Ads up means still available. Much easier for me to respond to emails as I work in a call centre.
Price drop - come get it out of my shed :D I can't afford to make this what I want it to be.
tl;dr
It's not rego'd (it may need an ID check, but I haven't tried to register it), it has no lights or other electronics.
It needs some jetting work and the rear shocks are a little sticky so you probably can't just get on it and ride it around the paddock.
However it would be a great basis for a custom build, 12v conversion, new lights as you please, vaportech dash etc.
1973 suzuki TS250. Bought this with the intention of making it into a sort of semi-motard, kx125 front end conversion etc, but I was funding my projects with work bonuses and they cut the program :/
Here she is starting and running- dead cold, 25:1 premix. Now the oil system is hooked up, due to concerns with big end lubrication this is about as long as I ran it on premix in total. The oiling system definitely works.
Note : It now has a complete exhaust.

Clutch is fine, goes through all gears no issues. Neutral finder is surprisingly good for an old bike.
New carb (pwk china clone, will take OEM keihin brass. Has an adjustable power jet, these are really great!). Will need some jetting work but it starts and it can putter around at low speeds.
- New chain
- Frame, swingarm and bodywork painted
- Seat pan painted and a new cover
- Rebuilt forks
- New bolts in the triple tree
- Exhaust front header replaced
- Also made a new silencer, it's not unreasonably loud (but you could make it quieter by wrapping).
- New swingarm bushings
- The oil pipe to pump feed leaked so replaced with genuine Tygon
- New levers
- Replaced the head stem bearings with Pyramid tapered bearings (was a bit of a pain to make them fit)
Missing bits
- Chain case and guard
- speedo (I have a tacho and cable in functional condition )
- instrument mount bracket
-Original headlight
- body electrical wiring loom is basically non- existent. Therefore a good candidate for 12v lighting conversion. There is a Malaysian seller that makes a complete kit with a 12v cdi for a reasonable price.
- I threw the carb body out cause it was trashed. I have the original carb internals, float bowl and a rebuild kit.
- rear shocks are toast also missing the mounting nuts
- rear brake cable and mounting pin
- Rear brake light mount
- Need hardware to install the rear fender
- Have some rear pegs with decent rubber but only one pin (other was rusted in)
- Fuel cap pin missing
- Needs mounting nuts for tank badges. I got some that are very similar style to OEM from Ali but the holes don't quite line up, but they cover the mounting bracket entirely.
- Some type of air filter arrangement is needed. The carb came with a velocity stack, you could use a sock filter, or just replace with a uni pod.
It was previously rego'd in SA, I called transport SA about it and its not in their records at all. Last rego around 1986 off the top of my head, I have the little disc thing somewhere.
Oh, and it has the coveted factory luggage rack!
I can now ship if you are keen, however, I will need to get hardware to install the rear fender and luggage rack, will add to cost. I think I should be able to pack the extra bits in a box and mount to the luggage rack and they will take it that way, to most capital cities should run around 6-800 dollars (perth very likely more)

*PROJECT* This Suzuki is a great example of a road-trail that has decent power for a LAMS motorcycle! The yellow and black cosmetics are decent, with the expected few imperfections, characteristic of a bike that has seen some dirt. The exhaust compliments this bike, amplifying a great note from the single-cylinder 249cc engine. This motor has only seen 5,604 kilometres, and this is in great knick, producing decent power and torque at 18 horsepower and 13.7 ft-lb, respectively. Previous owner replaced them not too long before I bought it, claims he spent $500 (But I presume this includes labour and Australian retail pricing from a brief google check. Nice valves though.) Original tank that came with my 1974 KH-400/ S3 I por-15'd it as you can see from the inside, previous owner fixed dents and bogged it up (but clearly not prepped that well as per handlebar dent on the left). After I por'd it, I realised it was the type for the non-lockable lid, so I bought another one. Has been sitting a while but obviously not rusty inside, it doesn't leak, would be a decent basis if yours is totalled. I am pretty sure that it just fits within auspost guidelines but due to$130Campbelltown, SA•7w
