Red ceramic penguin statue by Louisville Stoneware, USA

This wonderful red penguin was made by Louisville Stoneware in the United States, which commenced operations in 1815. It stands approx 15.5cm high and is in excellent condition. Stoneware is a type of pottery fired to a high temperature (about 1200°C to 1315°C) which became the dominant house-ware of the United States circa******1890. Red penguins are hand-crafted by Louisville Stoneware, inspired by the 4-foot-tall plastic penguin limited edition sculptures exhibited throughout the 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville.
