Eucalyptus Montessori is a reputable early learning centre established in 2017 and committed to providing high-quality education and care for children aged 3 months to 6 years. We have 5 classrooms and can accommodate up to 90 children per day.
Our centre provides fresh and in-house made morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for our children. Our commitment to food service includes sourcing fresh groceries from reputable suppliers and preparing meals on-site daily.
Given that our meals are prepared for children, our top priorities are health, nutrition, diversity (in terms of ingredients and cultural representation), and homemade.

Job Offer:
- Permanent Full-time
- $70,000 per annum plus superannuation
About the role: As our Chef you will:
- Plan weekly menus, considering dietary requirements and preferences
- Estimate costs for menu items and ensure cost-effective sourcing of ingredients
- Order fresh products and other food supplies, while closely managing the allocated budget
- Prepare and cook nutritious and age-appropriate snacks and meals for children, adhering to food safety and quality standards
- Implement freezing and preservation techniques as needed to maintain food quality and minimise waste.
- Oversee food service operations, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
- Managing inventory efficiently, monitoring stock levels and minimising wastage
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of and unwavering commitment to safe food handling legislation, ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaborate with colleagues, Directors to discuss food preparation and menu-related issues
- Maintain a meticulously clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to established cleaning checklists and schedules to uphold the highest standards of hygiene.
- Assist with dishwashing tasks for classrooms following meals, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation
About you:
- You have at least two years relevant work experience
- You are an experienced and innovative Chef
- You are committed to designing healthy, nutritious seasonal menus for children using organic and locally sourced produce where possible
- You enjoy contributing to and being part of a team, but are also able to work independently (as you will be the only culinary force in the kitchen)
- You are a positive person and are friendly towards children, staff members and families
- You are experienced with handling allergens and dietary requirements
- You are reliable and have a minimum call-in-sick history
Your Qualifications:
- Certificate in food handling and hygiene
- Qualification in food safety and nutrition
- Certificate in Food Safety Supervisor
- First Aid Certificate
- Current WWVP card
