'What Orchid Is That?' - Over 1100 species illustrated and identified edited by Alec Pridgeon with Foreword by Alasdair Morrison in good condition [please see details further on]. It's a First Edition hardback as per photo 3.
The blurb:- This book will delight everyone, from the gardener with a casual interest in orchids, to the confirmed enthusiast. It takes in a wide spectrum of orchid genera and more than 1100 species common in cultivation, presented by an international panel of experts.
The first section introduces orchid habitats, distribution, names and classification, hybrids, pollination, how to grow orchids and control pests and diseases, and orchid conservation.
The alphabetical section, "Orchids A-Z", includes descriptions, names and synonyms, geographic distribution, notes on culture, and photographs drawn from collections around the world, showing the best-known species in culltivation.

Dr Alec Pridgeon received his Ph.D in biology from Florida State University, his specialty being the anatomy and systematics of orchids. He is now working at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and also serving as a Visiting Research fellow at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. He is a member of the International Orchid Commisiion, Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, and Associate of the Oakes Ames Orchid Herbarium of Harvard University (at time of release of this book).

304 pages. Published by Weldon Publishing, Sydney in 1992 [1st Edition]. ISBN 1-86302-194-9. [Approx 32 x 25 x 3cms & 1830g].
This informative and beautifully illustrated large format hardback is in good condition with pages clean [please keep reading] and tightly bound. There is a bit of spotting to the first couple of pages [pre-title and title pages], and then lightly in a part of the margin of the first half dozen pages of actual text. The dust cover shows quiet a few signs of use/storage as per photos 1 & 2 [please excuse shadow from my tripod on back] with bending/creasing to top and bottom edges, and a tear that has been repaired with clear tape at the top of the front, and a few little nicks at the top of the spine. The hardcover itself shows some rubbing to its top and bottom edges, and there are quiet a few marks to the edges of the closed pages. Basically, despite the above, there's nothing to prevent enjoying the lovely photos and accessing the information contained herein.
