1 kg Starkle G systemic insecticide for cactus succulents Japan made
$89.99
SHIPPING OFFERED
This listing is for 1 kg of Starkle G. It is a systemic insecticide in the neonicotinoid class (related to natural compounds found in tobacco) and is effective against a range of sucking insects including mealybugs and root mealybugs, thrips, aphids, cockroaches, and more.
Starkle G is used extensively in Asia especially in Japan and Thailand where it is the standard control measure against the dreaded mealybug and root mealybug among cacti growers. #astrophytum #ariocarpus #loph (lw cactus, lophophora)
Simply sprinkle the magenta-coloured Starkle G around the base of your cactus, and/or incorporate it into your growing medium when repotting your plant. There's no spraying involved! The active ingredient in Starkle G, dinotefuran, is taken up by the roots of the cactus and any sucking insect that feeds on the plant is killed. It is effective for 30-45 days once applied to your plants but often lasts a lot longer for cacti and succulents due to the infrequency of watering.
Great for certain plant types such as Echeveria which seems to attract mealybugs, and fantastic for cacti with wooly areoles and with densely packed spines that can hide mealybugs.
The advantage of Starkle G is it saves having to unpot all your plants to check their roots for mealybugs, and if found, to clean the roots and to repot in fresh clean substrate - a time consuming and expensive exercise, and even then you have the issue of mealybug eggs hatching later on so your problem has not gone away. Starkle G solves that because it is long-lasting and acts as both a preventative and as a treatment. For your rarest and most cherished show plants that you want to remain blemish-free Starkle G is your answer. No more spotting, scaring and other blemishes from insect damage and no more dead plants from untreated, ongoing, mealy bug infestation.
For plants in 8 cm pots, you need only around 1 gram of Starkle G to be sprinkled at the base of the plant which means that a 1 kg pack will be good for 1000 plants. If mixing Starkle G into your substrate, use 2 grams of Starkle G for every 1 litre of substrate.
Suitable for all types of plant including all cacti and non-cacti succulents whether grown indoors or outdoors. Starkle G is simply the best product on the market for treating mealy bugs and sucking insects and is good for using in rotation with Imidacloprid although because Imidacloprid has been the most widely used insecticide worldwide in the past decade mealy bugs have acquired partial resistance to it thus making Starkle G the single most effective and safest alternative to date.
This is a low toxicity product to humans and other mammals as well as fish and birds. May harm beneficial insects such as honey bees. As with all chemicals Starkle G should be handled with care and stored safely out of reach of children and pets in a dry, cool place out of direct sun.
Dosage, handling and safety instructions included with product.
Free postage included in purchase price.
SPECIAL PRICING: Buy 100 g for $15.75, buy 2 kg for $170, buy 3 kg for $250 (shipping included in price).
