Autocar Magazine January 1960
THE AUTOCAR magazine is a British Automotive Magazine published by the Haymarket Media Group with Mark Tisshaw being lead editor and Jim Holder as the current editorial director. Originally established and edited by Henry Sturmey and published 1895 it is now licensed by publishers around the world.
The magazines name was changed from “The Autocar” to “Autocar” in in 1962 and in 1988 Autocar took over the rival magazine “Motor”, becoming “Autocar and Motor” in September 1988, reverting to “Autocar” in September 1994.
Autocar magazine pioneered the road test in 1928 when they tested the Austin 7 Gordon England Sunshine Saloon and today focuses broadly on every aspect of modern car culture coupled with a taste of motor sport, history and technical aspects of the genre, remaining as a credible motoring publication worldwide.
For sale is a January 1960 edition of THE AUTOCAR Magazine featuring the Turner-Climax Sports and the Lotus Mark 18 for 1960, along with an interesting in depth article on the Formula 1 Show Cars. The condition I would describe as 8/10, some wear to the spine otherwise good condition for its age of 63 years. This magazine has some excellent articles for Turner-Climax, Lotus, F1 Cars and Hispano-Suiza enthusiasts making it a worthwhile addition to your collection of motoring memorabilia.
