Modern Motor October 68
MOTOR magazine was originally published as Modern Motor from its inaugural issue on 9 May 1954 by the late Colin Ryrie as MD of Modern Magazines and Jules Feldman OAM as editor. The name derived from the publishing house that produced it, Modern Magazines. Colloquially, the title was abbreviated to Motor, and subsequently the word 'Modern' was dropped from the title to become simply “MOTOR” in 1992. The magazine is headquartered in Melbourne.
Dylan Campbell was the editor of MOTOR between 2013 and 2020. After switching to Wheels in September 2020, Campbell was succeeded as editor at MOTOR by Andy Enright. MOTOR focuses on prestige and high-performance vehicles and covers every aspect of performance-car culture.
For sale is an October 1968 edition of Modern Motor featuring a giant comparison of the Mitsubishi Colt 1100 vs Datsun 1000 vs Fiat 850 vs Hillman Imp vs Holden Torana vs Honda Scamp vs Morris Mini vs Toyota Corolla vs VW 1500 and the Renault Six for 1968 along with an interesting article on the new Mazda R100 Sports Twin Rotor Wankel Rotary. The condition I would describe as 9/10, excellent condition for its age of 54 years. This magazine has some excellent articles for the Holden, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Datsun, Mazda, Rover, Renault, VW, Rambler, Mini, Alfa and Fiat enthusiasts making it a worthwhile addition to your collection of motoring memorabilia.
Covered in this October 1968 edition of Modern Motor are articles on;
