Iadora -TB broodmare in foal to Prince of Caviar
$6,000
Iodora is a 2010 black mare by Commands out of Isadora (Gold Fever – USA). Purchased by Darby Bloodstock for $37500, she was unplaced at the racetrack. Her first dam won at 1600m and produced 11 foals all raced with 5 winners including Samadoubt and Thin Red Line. Iadora is the dam of two Prince of Caviar foals and is back in foal to him for a mid-September 2024 drop with a nomination back to Prince of Caviar the 2024 breeding season.
Prince of Caviar is first son of champion sprinter Black Caviar (Bel Esprit/Helsinge) to retire to stud standing for $4400. He showed tremendous ability in a career cut short through injury, narrowly beaten by 0.3 lengths behind subsequent Group 1 winner Extra Brut. Described as a colonial on speed sprinting style of horse suiting the Australian market, he has been well supported by the Black Caviar ownership group since retiring to stud in 2020. He covered 50 mares in first season.
Black Caviar, herself, won 25 straight races (15 Group 1) and, since going to stud in 2013, has produced five fillies and three colts. Of her progeny so far to race, Oscietra, Prince Of Caviar, Invincible Caviar, and I am Caviar have all won. She has a 2021 recently named filly Persian Caviar (Written Tycoon) and a 2023 colt by The Autumn Sun to come.
Prince of Caviar’s sire, Sebring (dec), was purchased at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale for just $130,000. This son of More Than Ready went on to win $2.537m in prizemoney –including five of his six starts as a 2yo including the Golden Slipper and the Sire’s Produce Stakes. Standing for Widden Stud before his untimely death, Sebring’s stud career was firing with a fee in his last season of $66,0000. He sired 51 stakes winners including Group One winners Dissident, Criterion, Egg Tart and Amphitrite.
