Alpinia zerumbet, commonly known as shell ginger, is a perennial species of ginger native to East Asia. Great as a landscaping plant it can grow up to 2.5 to 3 meters tall and bears colourful pink and white, shell-shaped flowers. It is best grown in part shade, at least with a little protection from full midday sun. 5 plants in 350mm pots.
