About me:
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from a renowned jazz school (NZ's equivalent of VCA). As a multi-instrumentalist, I specialise in electric bass, double bass, guitar, and electronic production using Ableton Live.
I operate a music production teaching business and have designed CertIV level Ableton Live courses professionally, creating beginner and advanced music production courses over the past 7 years.
After my studies, I performed with various bands across New Zealand and tutored numerous students, engaging with a wide range of music genres. Living in Melbourne for 10 years, I'm now eager to share my knowledge and inspiration with new students.
About music and the tutoring relationship:
It's common to encounter learning plateaus, particularly when studying solo. Having someone to motivate and guide us can make all the difference.
We all possess an innate understanding of music, and even as a beginner, your comprehension may be greater than you think! Music is a language best learned through interaction. A skilled tutor can be crucial to building confidence with your instrument.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and fostering a positive teacher-student relationship is vital. I strive to instil enthusiasm for music in my students and maintain motivation as a key aspect of learning.
After overseeing many students through the past 15 years of teaching experience, I can confidently say that regular practice of our shared studies will lead to significant improvement in your abilities.
Don't put it off any longer - join me for some lessons! Tuition truly works.
