About me:
I studied Jazz performance at a jazz school university (NZ equivalent of VCA), graduating with a Bachelor of Music. I am a multi-instrumentalist with a guitar/electric bass focus, and am an electronic producer & performer specialising in Ableton Live.
I run a business teaching music production, and have worked professionally designing Ableton Live courses at a CertIV level, as well as building my own beginners & advanced music production courses over the past 7 years.
After my initial studies, I took up a busy lifestyle of regular gigs with numerous bands around New Zealand, along with tutoring many students. I've played, performed, produced and created just about every type of music you can think of. I've now been in Melbourne for 10 years, and am seeking new students to share knowledge and inspiration with.
About music, and the tutoring relationship:
It's normal to reach plateaus in the learning journey, especially when going it alone. Having somebody to egg us on and provide a clear pathway of what to do, can change everything.
We all have an innate understanding of music, and even if you are a beginner, you may already have a greater understanding than you realise! Music is a language, and we learn it best by speaking with others. Having a good tutor can be foundational in your pathway to confidence on your instrument (it certainly was for me).
I have a great love for teaching and it's always felt natural. The relationship between teacher/student is key, and keeping a good energy up, which makes for an enjoyable, fun experience. I aim to pass on a great enthusiasm for music with my students, and believe that keeping a good level of positive motivation is an essential part of learning.
After 15 years of doing this, I can pretty much guarantee that if you stick to regular practice of the things we study together, you'll see incredible results, and experience a remarkable improvement in your abilities.
So come get some lessons! Tuition really works.

- piano lessonsI have 46 years of experience in piano teaching. I taught at University and Music School in former Soviet Union, at Huntingtower School in Mount Waverley and my private studio. Teach all styles- classical, jazz and modern. When looking for a music teacher for beginner, you will probably consider getting a very experienced teacher, as the fist year of tuition is the most important, even critical, so they can build a technique and a performing ability free of unnecessary tension and effort.Mount Waverley, VIC•222w
