2 x c.1960 ROYAL QLD BUSH CHILDREN's HEALTH SCHEME PIN-BACK BADGE
$10
Pin-back button design in the United States was first patented in 1896. Many contemporary pin-back buttons have many of the same design features. A pin-back button, pin button or button badge has either flat or concave area on the front of the button to carry an image or printed message and a fastening mechanism anchored to the back side.
The Royal Queensland Bush Children's Health Scheme was founded in 1935 by the Governor of Queensland, Sir Leslie Orme Wilson, to meet the health needs of children living in bush communities. Children were sent to seaside holiday homes for a period of six weeks. This scarce pin-back button datse from c.1960 and was acquired for a one shilling [1/-] donation to the cause. The button measures 22 mm in diameter and has a pin attachment on the reverse. The button is in good used condition considering its age of more than 50 years.
Pick-up from Forest Lake or postage extra. Regular Postage and padded mailer will cost $3.50.
