The 5th/7th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment [Mechanised] was a mechanised infantry battalion of the Australian Army. The battalion was based at Robertson Barracks in Holtze, Northern Territory and formed part of the 1st Brigade. It was formed in 1973 by linking both the 5th and 7th Battalions of the Royal Australian Regiment together and was disbanded in 2006, as part of the expansion of the Australian Army, when the 5th and 7th Battalions of the Royal Australian Regiment were delinked into two separate battalions once again.
Nicknamed ‘The Tigers’, 5/7 RAR [MECH] colours were gold and maroon and is reflected in this new unused Velcro-backed embroidered Unit Shoulder Patch which measures 80 mm x 60 mm and was only worn on the right sleeve of Disruptive Pattern Combat Uniform.
Pick-up from Forest Lake or postage extra. [Standard Postage will cost $1.50].
