If you are looking to get a harness modified or buy my new harness, you have a serious decision to make and one that will make or break your project if you get it wrong
So PLEASE, consider your harness as the nervous system, and the ecu as the brains of your engine and as such, do it once, do it right, and dont scimp on the most important part of your pride and joy.
In Australia our LS powered Commodores have many differences to USA LS harnesses including being setup for LHD cars and use several different connectors. This also means the ecu's run different programs, so a commodore tune in an Australian ECM wont work with an American harness, which bamboozles most Australian tuners.....
I have been making/modifying harnesses and dyno tuning since 1993 and I guarantee and backup everything I do
My businesses "Injection Connection" and "Kalmaker" have been registered over 25 years....
Search facebook for my Kalmaker page to see more of my stuff
Above is my Brand New LS2, L98, L77, L76, LS3, LS7, E38 wiring harness I make right here in Perth W.A. using all new connectors and terminals and highest quality automotive wire
The main feature of my new harness is the layout, where the harness exits the rear of the engine and puts the ecu and relays/fuses inside the car under the dash, whereas the VE/VF harness exits the front of the engine and puts the ecu at the front right corner.....
This is an important decision to consider as it affects the look and exposes the ecu to the conditions, particularly in 4wd apps.
My new harness costs more, than to modify your existing harness, but both function exactly the same.
They both feature,
-Suit 6L80e or manual, or T400 etc..
-Includes all relays and fuses for, ecu control of dual fans, fuel pump, start relay/Park/Neutral inhibitor for 6L80e, and Main ignition.
-The relay and fuse block will pass through the normal size Commodore grommet hole in the firewall, meaning no secondary troublesome connectors.... or gaping hole in firewall....
-Includes all wiring long enough to reach fans, fuel pump, main power, as well as ignition and start switches, and gauges.
-Just 3 wires (manual), or 4 wires (auto) to connect to run
-All wires labelled, making very easy installation
Please check out my other 6L80e ad also on Gumtree for more info and the exciting breakthrough for manual Tiptronic using any shifter you want
The 2nd photo is my new LSA harness in a 1955 Chev with all the correct injector/coil plug connectors to match the LSA
The 3rd photo is my 6L L77 6L80e test bed, which is used to test run all my new harnesses and ECM's
Finally, I have been tuning all model Commodores since the first VN software was available, using Kalmaker software, and then EFI Live and HP Tuners to a lesser degree since the LS1 and then the LS2 came along... so I know these things inside out... not bragging, just saying, and this experience can save you big time.
I prefer to redo your ECM with not only the VATs removed, but everything else required just to make it run in a conversion, along with correct options and settings turned on to make your tacho and speedo work.... remembering that the BCM normally controls this, and this also eliminates the use of EXPENSIVE modules sold by others to do this
I then test your new harness along with your reflashed ECM on my test engine above for that added confidence and valued Quality Control
The initial ECM tuning by others is the area that gives the most grief with conversions and of course the harness is the first part that gets blamed...
I don't lock my tunes, so my reflashed tune can be touched up by others, if needed
There are too many variations and combinations to have set prices, so please phone or at least text / SMS rather than email
