Oak Gateleg Occasional Table - George I Circa 1720
Offered for sale is a rare & desirable Gateleg Table of the George I period. It is a table of small proportions designed for the drawing room on which to take port & spirits. It is an appropriate height & size for use with salon / drawing room chairs. It was made in England around 1720. The method of construction is strictly of the period. It is made of select Oak & joinery built. The mortise & tennon joints are cross pinned & the gateleg pivots are housed. The top leaves are hinged with forged
