Mexican Lily (Beschorneria yuccoides). Outdoor plant that prefers part to full sunlight. It has soft, sword-shaped, grey-green leaves and produces long flower spikes with pink, bell-shaped flowers in summer (photos 1 & 2). I have one plant in a large 30cm pot for $20 (photos 3 & 4).

Giant Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia nicolai) is a hardy plant with large, arching leaves. Mature plants produce large, blue and white flowers in spring (photo 1). I have one plant in a large 30cm pot for $60 (photos 2 & 3). It is about 1.3m tall. This plant grows best outdoors with good drainage in part to full sun. If planted in the ground, it can grow up to 6m tall and form a clump up to 3.5m wide.
