This coat belonged to my mother and must have been bought in the late 1930s or early 1940s. It has been kept in an air-tight chest and so is in surprisingly good condition. I have also recently had it cleaned. (It was the furrier that told me it is muskrat.) The fur is beautiful with streaks of different colouring (it looks different in different lighting). It is soft and very warm. Mum made one repair on it when one of the hooks broke and she replaced it with a button (see photo). I'm guessing

This absolutely beautiful jacket has character and spunk in bucket loads! It’s off white with denim, blue and red stripes.
