Tapestry - Country Village idyllic setting. This colourful scene includes houses behind a river with happy people enjoying the simple life. Tapestry woven by my mother over 40 years ago. Great sewing & colours set in a stylish gold painted timber frame. The front plastic cover is missing and the rear paper cover is ripped. Frame is OK but a little wobbly. In 1873 Alfred Meakin Ltd was founded by Alfred Meakin and was based at Tunstall's Royal Albert, Victoria, and Highgate Potteries. Alfred was the brother of James and George Meakin, who owned J. and G. Meakin, a significant pottery in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Incorporated as a Limited Company in 1896.
