An early Australian institution, "Yes What?" was a regular radio programme recorded in the early 1940s and heard up until at least the early 1960s, and possibly later. Recorded in Adelaide, each episode was a complete story in itself, and featured a frustrated and sometimes absent-minded teacher Doctor Pym, and several slow-learning and mischievous boys, who seemed to drive Doctor Pym to distraction - and........ the cane!! I bought this Handcrafted Large Cobra snake from the 'Old Elephant Shop' at Cooranbong in the early 1970’s. The Gentleman that owned the shop at the time, told me he only imported three of these larger size Cobra snakes into Australia. The Cobra is in two pieces. There are no cracks that we can see. A fantastic set of kitchen scales from the 1950s complete with pan and mass sets (imperial set is original; metric set is a newer). These scales are in fully working condition and come from a time when we manufactured such things in Australia and built then to withstand the test of time. They would be a great addition as a working display in a 1950s era kitchen, or man / woman cave or the like.

This fabulous set of white and red Eon Bakelite canisters was a prominent feature of many 1950s kitchens. The set consists of 5 canisters; 2 large, 2 medium and 1 small, all with lids and one scoop. They are all in exceptional condition considering their age with no chips, cracks or discolouration of the canisters or their lids. They have had little or no exposure to the sun, hence the lack of discolouration or crazing or fading of the bright red lids and scoop.
